First year dances (Beginners):
Mambo, Cha-cha, Disco-Swing, Quickstep, English Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Jive
Important principles that we teach:
Mambo, Cha-cha, Disco-Swing, Quickstep, English Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Jive
Important principles that we teach:
- The differences between the standard and latin-american dances
- Recognizing the dances, knowing their basic rhythm, and a rough idea of the characteristics of the dances
- (what do we wish to express, what is the dance about)
- Awareness of the own body and the partner's body in movement
- Lead and follow basic principles
- Responsibilities on and around the dancefloor
- Etiquette for a ball or festive social dance events
Second year (Advanced):
- Samba, Rumba, are added
- more sophisticated combinations in the other dances
- the programme will be different to last season
- more focused to an international bronze level.
- Adequat dance shoes would be appreciated
Third year (Medallist):
- Paso Doble and Slowfoxtrot are added
- technically more advanced figures are introduced
- preparation for start to dance competitions
- focused to an international bronze to silver level
- Adequat dance shoes would be appreciated
- focused on technique of basic to intermediate level of figures in ballroom and latin dances
- we do expect the dancers to practise on top of the classes
- useful to all dancers who are interessted in competitive dancing
- mostly solo
- dance shoes required and dance sneaker are handy to practise ballroom and latin
Technique & Choreography masterclass
Is open to all ambitious students with minimum 2 years of dance classes and or competitors of all levels
- focused on technique of high level figures in ballroom and latin dances
- we will also work on your dynamique, body awareness and expression
- will included competitve simulations
- we do expect the dancers to practise on top of the classes
- necessary to built up towards competition
- mostly solo
- dance shoes required and dance sneaker are handy to practise ballroom and latin

Since 1997 we have been organising these ballroom dance classes for teen dancers. Meanwhile, students of all the European Schools, the German School, the British School, the International Schools, the Montesorischool, Lycee Francais and a many Brussels athenums are participating in these classes.

Since 1997 we have been organising these ballroom dance classes for teen dancers. Meanwhile, students of all the European Schools, the German School, the British School, the International Schools, the Montesorischool, Lycee Francais and a many Brussels athenums are participating in these classes.
Main aims:
By learning non-verbal communication tools, they learn to lead and to follow
- to trust a partner
- to take responsability
- to work in a team
- to respect each other
At the same time the students train
- coordination within their own body
- coordination with a partner
- coordination with music
- orientation in space
All students will benefit of
- a very refined body awareness
- a stronger and stable posture
- a better presentation
- being experts in etiquette on and around the dancefloor
- more self confidance
The classes start with solo dancing, to study the patterns and rhythms. Progressively, the students learn to dance with a partner and to execute more complicated combinations.
Class fees
For your comfort we did split all class fees into 2 instalments:
Prices are per semester and participant:
- 1st semester September-January due latest 20/11/2025
- 2nd semester February-June 2026 due latest 28/02/2026
Prices are per semester and participant:
1 class is 100,- € per semester/ per participant (Beginners, Advanced & Medallists), it includes:
- 14 lessons of 1 hour 15 minutes per semester
- free access to the open practise on Fridays 21h-22h30
- membership at the Skylight Dance Club asbl and Danssport Vlaanderen
- insurance via Danssport Vlaanderen
- not included all ball events
2 classes =150,- € per semester /per participant,
3 or classes = 180,-€ per semester /per participant
